In the early hours of Sunday, October 11, 2026, along James Gichuru Road in Lavington, Nairobi, a high-speed collision involving an Aston Martin DBX registration KDS 888M, a Volkswagen Tiguan, and a Suzuki N-Wagon taxi left a 47-year-old cab driver dead and two passengers fighting for their lives.
The taxi driver, identified as Denis Otieno Omoro, a widower whose wife had died in 2024, succumbed to his injuries the following day. He leaves behind five children who have now lost both parents within two years.
Records circulating widely on social media and reported across platforms name Huzeifa Onali Mohamed Ali as the registered owner of the Aston Martin.

The vehicle’s insurance cover had expired at the time of the crash.
A new third-party only policy was issued at 2:40 AM East Africa Time after the incident, raising immediate questions about the timing and whether cover was arranged to mask an uninsured vehicle involved in the collision.

Eyewitness accounts and circulating videos describe the Aston Martin’s front end extensively damaged, with its bonnet hanging off.
Reports indicate the luxury vehicle and the Tiguan were allegedly racing when the taxi was caught in the chaos.
The driver of the Aston Martin is said to have fled the scene immediately. Some accounts note that the number plate was removed. A Maserati has also been mentioned in connection with the multi-vehicle incident.
Car enthusiast Luqmaan Hasham, known online as Lookie, who was seen near the wreckage, publicly denied any involvement.
In a statement on October 13, he said he was not the driver, does not own the Aston Martin, and was the one who contacted a police officer identified as Gaitho to the scene.
He warned of legal action against those spreading false claims about him.
The insurer linked to the post-crash policy is Definite Assurance Company Limited (also referred to as Definite Insurance in some posts).
The company received its operational licence from the Insurance Regulatory Authority in December 2024.
Its directors and major shareholders include SportPesa co-founder and Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri, Quiver Lounge owner Peter Mbugua, and CEO and principal officer Hezron Wambugu. The firm has previously faced public boardroom disputes over shareholding.
Social media users have demanded that the National Transport and Safety Authority and police publicly identify the actual driver of the Aston Martin and confirm whether charges have been filed.
Questions persist over whether the vehicle was being driven without valid cover, the circumstances of the alleged racing, and the rapid issuance of a policy after the fatal crash. Two passengers from the taxi remain in the High Dependency Unit.
The case has intensified public anger over the treatment of luxury vehicle owners versus ordinary road users, with many noting that high-end cars often appear to evade routine checks.
As of October 14, authorities had not publicly named the driver or confirmed the status of investigations into the insurance timing. The family of Denis Otieno Omoro continues to seek answers and accountability.
