Rising entertainer VJ Patelo has taken a firm stand against online trolls targeting his relationship with his older wife, Diana, and his comeback is as bold as it gets.
In a now-viral video posted on his Facebook page, the budding musician clapped back at critics questioning the age difference between him and his wife.
With swagger and zero apology, he declared, “Checki, mumama ni wangu sawa, mali ni yangu, wewe piga panganga.”
Patelo’s tone was laced with defiance as he continued, “Checki, hamtani panga mtu wa kukaa na yeye tafuta wako,” making it crystal clear that he was unbothered by the social media noise.
The clip was cheekily captioned, “Diana ni wangu, tafuta wako wa PORCHE CAYEN.”
The term “mumama”, local slang often used pejoratively to describe older women dating younger men, didn’t faze Patelo. If anything, he wore it like a badge of honour.
His unapologetic stance has drawn admiration from fans who applauded his loyalty, boldness, and refusal to conform to societal expectations of love.
The couple recently tied the knot in a stylish, one-of-a-kind, and intimate garden wedding in Nairobi. Patelo claimed the wedding cost Sh500 million.
Dressed in matching white outfits, Patelo in a suit he claimed cost Sh1.7 million and Diana in a gown that cost Sh1.6 million, they exchanged vows in front of close friends, family, and a few public figures. Videos of the romantic ceremony quickly spread across social media, where opinions remained divided.
While many netizens congratulated the lovebirds for following their hearts, others couldn’t resist taking shots, questioning Diana’s age and wealth.
His message is loud and clear: he chose love, not validation.
