Following Mpeketoni repeated attacks in Lamu that has left close to 100 people dead, the US embassy in Kenya is reportedly ordering Peace Corps members working in remote places to leave the country immediately.
Three who were working in the health sector in Bomet County left today wishing they could stay but pleas to their embassy that they are safe fell on deaf ears.
They departed, bidding teary farewells to villagers promising to appeal to the US government to return soon.
