advertised for a vacancy looking for a translator to work with in the
cases against the three accused. According to the website announcement

Since the advert was pinned thousands of applications have been
submitted given the lucrative Sh.650k monthly salary the job is just
too beautiful and not even political,tribal affiliations is holding
the Kikuyus from going for it.
Duties & Responsibilities
The incumbent of this post will work in the
Language Services Unit of the Office of the
Prosecutor, under the supervision of the
Language Coordinator. He or she will work in
a demanding and high-pressure but
rewarding environment. The successful
candidate will be expected to:
– translate from Kikuyu/Swahili into English,
and possibly vice versa, documents covering
a wide range of topics including, but not
limited to, legal, military, medical, forensic,
human rights, administrative and financial
matters;
– summarize written or audio-video material
in Kikuyu/Swahili into English; – transcribe
and quality control audio/video material;
– actively receive and apply feedback and
take part in supervised training activities;
– provide telephone interpretation between
Kikuyu/Swahili and English;
– contribute to terminology and reference
databases;
– perform other tasks as required (including
potentially administrative and/or IT related
tasks).
The timing of the ad has sparked controversies as to why Bensouda
would want Kikuyu translator given that Ruto’s case witnesses are
almost done leaving a probability that Kikuyu witnesses might be
testifying against Uhuru at the ICC. As the mystery surrounds,Uhuru’s
tribesmen are lining up for the job to work for the ICC
