A middle aged woman has been arrested after she was caught trying to smuggle cocaine into Spain.
Maria Eliana, a 48-year-old-Brazilian, was apprehended at the Barajas Airport in the Spanish capital, Madrid.
She was being searched after arriving on a flight from Sao Paulo when officers noticed that she was acting suspicious.
NY Daily reports:
They allegedly found 1.98-pounds of the narcotic, the
majority of which had packed inside plastic bags and inserted up into
her vagina.
The remainder was strapped, also in plastic bags, underneath her breasts. Arrested, she is now being questioned by police.
Her detention came on the same weekend as airport police also
detained two men, from Guatemala and Spain, on suspicion of smuggling
drugs into the country.
The Guatemalan, named as 37-year-old Carlos Humberto E, was
arrested just after midday on Sunday after police found 9.7-pounds of
cocaine inside his suitcase.
Spaniard Jesus BR, 42, was pulled over at 5 a.m. Monday and found to be carrying 3.7-pounds of cocaine in his hand luggage.
