Deputy president William Ruto’s support in Mt. Kenya is quickly dropping even though he still remains the most favorite candidate in the region.

Raila Odinga is turning the tide in Mt. Kenya as he continues traversing the region seeking support for his 2022 presidential bid.

Raila’s campaigns in Mt. Kenya is yielding fruits because Ruto’s popularity in the region has dramatically plunged in a short span.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s die-hard supporter and blogger Pauline Njoroge took to social media on Thursday October 14th to celebrate after latest survey indicated that Ruto’s support in Mt. Kenya had dropped by 24%.

The report indicates that the deputy president’s approval rating in Mt. Kenya is currently at 61% down from 85% in January.

From an approval rating of 85% in Mt. Kenya in January 2021 to a rating of 61% in early October 2021. Kweli, Vindu vichenjanga! ,” Pauline Njoroge posted.

Pauline and those supporting Raila’s bid for president are celebrating even though Ruto remains the favorite candidate in Mt. Kenya simply because they know the ODM leader doesn’t need full support from the region to get in State House.

Raila had been getting about 3% of the total votes in Mt. Kenya region in the past elections, political strategists say the ODM leader needs about 15% support from the region if he is to win the presidency.

Raila’s allies from the region vowed to ensure he gets at least 30% support from Mt. Kenya, hoping that he keeps a firm grip of his Western, Nyanza, Coast and Nairobi bases.

President Uhuru Kenyatta dispatched his allies led by Kieni MP Kanini Kega, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, nominated MP Maina Kamanda and others to help Raila campaign in Mt. Kenya.

The president reportedly wants Raila to climb the mountain alone before he can join him later to campaign for him.

So far Raila has done an incredible job climbing the mountain, he has held rallies across the region which has been attended by thousands who accorded him a warm reception unlike in the past.
