Police have managed to arrest 8 suspects and arraigned to courts on suspicion of having a hand in the MPEKETONI massacre. With the help of ATPU the following suspects have be narrowed to have been the core of the deadly attack.

3- Alex Mwanginga
4- Yusuf Ali
5- Mbaruk Hamad
6- Lucas Bososi
7- Cecely Njeri
8- Idris Dada
Even though al shabaab has claimed responsibility to this the government through Uhuru has reiterated and pointed fingers at political instigators. The suspects names would bring in a new vector of debate
