Moi’s Grandson Sued For Neglecting 2 Kids, Woman Demands Sh1M Monthly Upkeep

The late president Daniel Arap Moi’s grandson Collins Toroitich has been sued for allegedly absconding from his parental responsibilities.

Gladys Jeruto Tagi accused Toroitich, the son of late Jonathan Toroitich, of neglecting their two children aged 11 and nine years.

According to Nation, Tagi, through her lawyer David Mongeri, wants the court to compel Toroitich to give her KSh 1 million per month to cater for food, rent, education and entertainment.

In a case filed before Principal Magistrate Benjamin Limo, Tagi claimed Toroitich abandoned his children eight years ago, leaving all responsibilities to her.

Since then, she claimed she has been struggling to provide for the children as she does not have a stable income.

In 2016, Toroitich was charged that he stole the two phones belonging to his daughter May Chelimo and her friend Betty Chebet on July 14 same year.

In contrast, the children of the other family members are rarely seen displaying wealth. For instance, a girlfriend of Jonathan’s son, Collins, was at one time detained for over a week at a high-end hotel in Kitale for failing to clear a bill after they were booked in for days at the facility.

Collins is said to have sneaked out of the hotel after failing to raise Sh100,000 bill.
