Matiang’i Reveals Details Of A Dubious Police Deal Behind Ruto’s Attacks On Mutyambai

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has launched a blistering attack on Deputy President William Ruto following his attack onInspector general of police Hillary Mutyambai.

Speaking to supporters in Kisii, Matiang’i went blood-and-guts on Ruto alleging that he was bitter because of unsuccessful business deals with Mutyambai.

“The only problem with Mutyambai is that he refused to buy police boots for Ksh13,000 that were being sold by Ruto’s friends. Mutyambai accepted to buy the boots at Ksh2,900.

“The problem with Mutyambai is refusing to buy bulletproof vests for 900 dollars sold by your friends and opted to buy them directly from manufacturers. That is the frustration that is pushing you to abuse our inspector general of police,” Matiang’i stated.

Matiang’i further accused the DP of attacking public servants in the presence of foreigners adding that he had failed the leadership test.

According to Matiang’i, the DP’s actions were fueled by his frustrations with Mutyambai.

“If you want to be a leader Of this country, how do you attack public servants before foreigners? You attack our police IG before foreigners who visit you at public office?” the CS added.

Ruto hits out at Mutyambai

Ruto on Thursday hit out at Mutyambai labelling him as the “most incompetent” police IG in Kenya’s history.

“The only concern from where we sit is the police. We do not doubt the capacity of the police to handle the situation, we doubt the command. We have the most incompetent IG in the whole world and that’s the problem,” Ruto lamented.

The DP was speaking during a meeting with the delegation of the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in Karen.
