Following Kenya government’s request to the Interpol for intervention in arresting Samantha Lewthwaite, aged 29, who is also believed to use the alias ‘Natalie Webb’, but known widely as the “white widow” ,who is on the run for charges of being in possession of explosives and conspiracy to commit a felony dating back to December 2011,according to information forwarded time the Interpol.Samantha is a widow to Jermaine Lindsay,a suicide bomber who gave up his life in July,7,2005,7 July in London where 52 people were left dead and scores injured.Several reports including witnesses’ testimonies of a white woman being amongst the attackers with some describing as “white woman with very long hair,had bullets strap across her waist as she shot at anyone” has been doing rounds.Despite the government’s reports that all the attackers were killed,several reports backed with victims testimonies hints that the white widow could have evaded the police trap by dropping the weapons,changing clothes and fled away with the rest of the victims.The fears of many might have just been confirmed by the issuance of the red notice on Samantha following government’s request.
Meanwhile in Mombasa during mention of a case to an accomplice to white widow,Jermaine Grant,the Scotland yard counter terrorism detective presented s collection of lingerie allegedly belonging to Samantha which were both recovered from one of the many apartments she rented in Mombasa in preparation for a possible attack in December 2011 at a tourist hotel to bomb British tourists.Samantha is said to have evaded the police traps be bribing several officers to have her ways through many traps.In South Africa she is wanted for forging and obtaining a passport.
The sad truth here is,Samantha could have been arrested before this attack back in 2011 but thanks to corruption amongst the officers in immigration and police she had her ways. Al Shabaab in more than an instance have shrugged saying corruption amongst the Kenyan officers will always give them pathway.Negligence at managing the escaping hostages could as well have given the swift woman slip through the eyes of the police.Now we have one enemy out there.
