Word is rife in the coast political corridors that Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi is set to ditch ODM for DP Ruto’s Tanga Tanga.
According to those in the know, Kingi recently held high end meeting with Tanga Tanga adherents who’ve been wooing him to join the DP’s party in Kwale. The party has been gaining popularity in the coastal region with a resounding win in Msambweni that sent ODM into a panic with many analysts saying the Raila’s led party is quickly losing support on the ground.
Kingi is also said to have fallen out with Mombasa Governor Joho who’s the defacto leader of the region and also ODM’s leader. Kingi who’s serving his last term as the governor has also been scheming how to retain his relevance in the political affiliations.
Sources in the know now says his defection from ODM to Ruto is not a matter of of but when.
