Fresh details as new allegations emerge on DP’s controversial drainage system on his Taita farm

Just days after the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Dr. Fred Matiang’I named vast land tracts in Taita and said that they belonged to the Deputy President William Ruto, fresh controversy is now surrounding the mentioned ranch after allegations emerged which implicate the DP in a potentially damning scandal involving what is said to have been a complex irregular drainage system. This is against the backdrop of yesterday’s scathing attack from the Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju.

It is now claimed that at the height of the farm’s operations back when the DP was at his peak, he constructed a long and illegal piped network that led to his farm and ended up denying nearby residents the much needed water. The DP, through his farm’s management, is said to have directed all the water to his farm, despite protests from the locals.

These allegations were made on Radio Jambo’s popular weekly political show Mazungumzo Wazi Wazi which was hosted by Bramwell Mwololo, as he was interviewing political and economic analyst James Mwangi. Also in the studio were Amani National Congress party official Brian Mulama, Hustler Nation member and DP William Ruto’s supporter, Gerald Bitok, and lawyer cum activist, Brian Weke.

James Mwangi reiterated that although he had nothing against people amassing wealth, and was in support of entrepreneurship, what he was totally against, and completely objected to, was oppressing the poor in the process.

In a quick rejoinder, Gerald Bitok lambasted James Mwangi for the claims, asking him to either table proof that was going to validate his claims, or just keep quiet about the issue altogether. He accused Mwangi of being a peddler of propaganda, and falsehoods, warning him that they in UDA are experts in that field, and that if he dared to go that route, they would meet him head-on.

However, James Mwangi maintained his stand, and in fact, went ahead to state that as a matter of fact, what he accused the DP of doing in Taita had also been replicated in his Murumbi farm in Laikipia, where he had also denied people water there due to illegal piping.
