To most he is known for supposedly leaking to the internet controversial photos of Mike Sonko and Rachael Shebesh in nude positions. Roy Kohadha a stern figure in theatre,Gor Mahia and political arena,lost his life on 22nd Dec in a fatal car accident along Ngong road.
His body left Chiromo mortuary on the 2nd and a the last journey procession ensued. Due to his major ties and links in the above named arenas,he received a “state” funeral procession in Nairobi. Friends,media personalities,politicians, family and Gor Mahia followers all came together to give him a “state” send off.
His body was taken to the National Theatre where he was received with hundreds of actors and practitioners,the procession then went to St Stephens ACK Jogoo road where hundreds of friends,actors and Gor followers filled up the church for final prayers. Many eulogised including ODM officials where the late was a stand out figure. After church his body was taken to Kariobangi South estate his residence and the grounds went berserk. Business came to a standstill as people came out in thousands to view the body,the long convoy of cars escorting the body caused a traffic snarl up
Almost the entire theatre practitioners were present amongst many of his friends.The masses that he pulled went to show how popular he was in these streets. Kogallo fans had initiated an online contribution to a fund that is meant to help the orphaned daughter he leaves behind to prosper in her education,Roy was apparently the bread winner in the entire family,the contributions which happened solely online has cashed in nearly 250k.
After a night vigil at his Nairobi residence,the body left for his rural home,Alego Siaya for the final journey. Burial is tomorrow,4th January and is expected to attract thousands of mourners including politicians.
