Former Chief Justice David Maraga has dismissed the originality of a viral tweet credited to him.

Maraga took to Twitter on Tuesday distancing himself from the words.
“This tweet circulating on social media purporting to be authored by me is FAKE, please ignore,” he tweeted.
Ruto garnered 7,176,141 votes (50.49 per cent) against Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga who got 6,942,930 votes (48.85 per cent).
On Monday, Raila and seven others filed petitions at the Supreme Court challenging the presidential election results.
Raila is challenging Ruto’s win, claiming that the polls were rigged in the outgoing DP’s favor.

One of the other petitioners, Busia Senator-elect Okiya Omtatah argued that the results were incomplete.
He said only KIEMs kits votes were cou
Omtatah added that none of the presidential candidates obtained the 50+1 threshold.
“From the workings above, it is clear that no candidate garnered 50 per cent plus one vote as required by Article 138(4)(a) of the Constitution. Hence, there was no basis for the IEBC Chairman, as the returning officer, to declare any candidate as duly elected President of the Republic of Kenya as stated in Form 34C.”
