Rongai Bishop Steals Married Church Choir Member, Husband Cries

A man from Rongai is in distress after his church’s bishop allegedly eloped with his wife to an undisclosed location.

David Makori claims that Bishop Charles Maloba of Power Pentecost Church stole his wife, a member of the church choir, three months ago and he is now staying with her at an unknown place in Kajiado.

Makori, according to a report by a local daily, says that his efforts to reconcile with the wife with whom he has a child has been in vain. He says that the wife told him that they can’t be together again because she had already fallen in love with the man of God who is also married to another woman.

“I can’t understand how a married church bishop can snatch someone’s wife,” Makori told The Nairobian.

Makori claims that the bishop might have run away with his wife of 10 years because of how well she sings in the church choir.

“It seems the bishop liked her performance in the choir that he found a way of drawing her close,” he claimed.

When Makori’s wife was reached out for comments over the matter, she accused the estranged husband of not being serious with their marriage hence forcing her to run to the hands of the man of God.

The wife, identified as Esther further accused Makori of refusing to make their marriage official despite leaving together for 10 years.

“How can he stay with me for over 10 years without bothering to make our marriage official? If I found someone serious with me what is the problem? ”she posed.

On his side, Bishop Maloba who at first refuted claims of being in a relationship with someone’s wife attributed his actions to genetics. She said that his actions were expected because first; his father is polygamous and second, he comes from the Luhya community.

“You know I come from Luhya land and my father had six wives. If you know, you know,” he said.
