Two Employees Charged With Stealing From Family Bank

Two family bank employees have been charged with stealing over Sh 10 million from the bank. 

Amos Ondieki Nyagemi, a cashier at the said bank is accused of stealing Sh 4,846,900 which got into his possession by virtue of his employment. 

Nyagemi is alleged to have committed the offense between 7th November and 2nd December 2016 at Family Bank Nakuru Market branch in Nakuru county, jointly with others not before court.

The cashier is also facing another charge of stealing Sh  5,215,000 from Family Bank Kenyatta avenue branch in Nairobi between 10th December 2016 and 5th January 2017.

Another employee, Stephen Kimani Ngacha, is charged with conspiring to Sh 1,265,917.87 between 20th November 2021 and 8th January 2022 at an unknown place within the Republic of Kenya. 

Ngacha is alleged to have committed the offence jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud the said bank.

In addition, Ngacha is also charged with stealing the Sh 1.2 million by virtue of his employment at the bank. 

Both accused persons who were charged separately denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi.

Nyagemi was granted a cash bail of Sh 1 million while Ngacha was granted a cash bail of Sh 200,000. In addition, provide one contact person.
