ODM’s Edwin Sifuna To Vie For Nairobi Senatorial Seat In 2022

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has officially announced he will be contesting Nairobi Senate seat on ODM ticket.

Sifuna made the announcement on Thursday ending speculations ahead of the 2022 General Elections.

He made unsuccessful run for the same seat in 2017 on ODM ticket losing to Jubilee’s Johnson Sakaja.

On Thursday, the ODM SG announced he will be seeking to replace Sakaja who has declared interest for Nairobi gubernatorial seat in 2022.

“I will henceforth vote at Loresho Primary School in Westlands Constituency,” Sifuna said.

“I will be vying for the Nairobi County Senatorial seat in 2022 on The ODM Party Ticket.”

The announcement comes days after the Chungwa House spokesman declared over the weekend that he will not go for any elective seat in Bungoma, his home county.

Sifuna said, “You people have used your resources campaigning for me to go for gubernatorial, senatorial or even Kanduyi parliamentary seat but it is unfortunate that I won’t vie for any elective seat in Bungoma in 2022.”

There had been reports Sifuna was to face off with Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi.
