Social media is on fire after upcoming rapper VJ Patelo went on a furious rant aimed at gossip king Edgar Obare, moments after Obare’s BNN Premium dropped what fans are calling one of the most scandalous exposés of the year.
The shocking revelation claimed that Patelo’s wife, Diana wa Patelo, was once romantically involved with Eric Mandala Kinzenga, a flamboyant Congolese businessman who is currently behind bars in Spain for drug trafficking.

According to reports, Mandala was dramatically arrested earlier this year after Spanish authorities intercepted 200 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside a van at a shopping mall parking lot — a bust linked to a multi-million euro trafficking ring allegedly operating between Ecuador, Spain, and Morocco.
The story sent shockwaves through Kenyan social media, prompting Patelo to erupt in anger during a fiery Instagram Live session that quickly went viral.
“Nitakutafuta na nitakupata!” the visibly enraged rapper warned Obare, his voice trembling with fury. “Stop dragging my wife into your cheap gossip. Focus on your business and leave my family alone!”
The outburst, however, only poured more fuel on the fire, with fans accusing Patelo of trying to intimidate a journalist instead of addressing the claims. Others mocked the rapper, saying his reaction only made the exposé “look even more believable.”
Screenshots of Patelo’s threats quickly circulated across X (formerly Twitter), sparking heated debate under the trending hashtag #PateloVsObare.
Some fans sided with the rapper, saying Obare had “crossed the line,” while others urged authorities to investigate the threats, noting that Obare has previously received threats from celebrities following damaging exposes.
Meanwhile, the spotlight has shifted to Diana, who has remained silent amid the storm.
Her alleged ex, Mandala Kinzenga, is reportedly being investigated by the DEA and Spain’s Central Unit of Drugs and Organized Crime (Udyco) over his global trafficking network.
In yet another jaw-dropping twist, reports from Spanish media claim that in 2020, Mandala splashed €1.85 million (about KSh 270 million) on a 221.85-square-metre luxury apartment on the 84th floor of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest skyscraper.
As Obare remains tight-lipped about the threats, insiders say he plans to release “part two” of the story soon — and if history is anything to go by, it’s bound to get even messier.
