Konshens Confirms 2025 Kenyan Tour

Jamaican riddim singer Garfield Spence, popularly known as Konshens, has confirmed that he will be visiting Kenya in 2025 after his fans flooded his DMs, asking whether he plans to tour the country anytime soon.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, January 23, 2025, the musician, who has previously expressed his obsession with Kenya, noted that fans had overwhelmed his inbox with questions, including inquiries about what he had in store for his Kenyan supporters.

The singer even shared a screenshot of the messages Kenyans had been sending his way, and it was all love, as many begged him to bless them with a visit.

Confirmation

Tagging the screenshot, the ‘Turn Me On’ hitmaker promised to grace his Kenyan fans with his presence this year, saying he had immense love for the country.

The singer added that while fans from other countries had also been messaging him, Kenyans had sent the most, leaving him with no option but to respond.

He noted that their messages came in daily and assured them they had nothing to worry about, as he would undoubtedly visit.

“Top 5 most asked questions in my DM every day. I promise 2025 for sure.”

Obsession

Though the singer did not share the exact details of when his visit would be, the tour will hardly come as a surprise or a unique event, as he has previously visited the country numerous times.

In fact, during one of his stays, he remarked that Kenya had become something akin to a motherland for him, even adopting a local name, Otieno, to symbolize the connection.

This was in December 2023 when he toured Kenya after visiting Uganda, where he crossed paths with a Nairobi woman who had tattooed his name on her chest.

The singer was beyond elated by such a gesture, noting how he felt like crying and couldn’t let go of the lady after hugging her.

“Brought me to tears. I froze up and couldn’t let her go in the club, and she wouldn’t let me go either in this packed, hot club in Nairobi. It’s not because she tatted my name; it’s because she wasn’t flirting or trying to hang out. All she wanted was to express her love for me and my music,” he wrote on Instagram.

Konshens Otieno

After completing his New Year’s Eve concert in Nairobi in December 2021, Konshens did not return to Jamaica immediately. Kenyan fans, impressed by how well he reciprocated their love, gave him the name Otieno.

The artiste embraced the name with much excitement, acknowledging that Kenya houses his largest fan base.

“Nuff love, Kenya, it’s been real. Our bond is stronger than ever. See you in 2/3 years, Konshens Otieno. #DANCEHALL,” the ‘Simple Blessings’ singer tweeted.
