Ferdinand Omondi Lands A New Job After BBC Exit

Former British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) Kenya Correspondent Ferdinand Omondi has joined Greenpeace Africa as Communications and Story Manager.

Confirming the same on Tuesday, Omondi said, “I have formally joined Greenpeace Africa as Communications and Story Manager for Anglophone Africa.”

“After six months of consulting, I am delighted to continue developing powerful narratives grounded in African consciousness for a more sustainable planet.”

Omondi departed from BBC in May 2023, after eight years in the international media.

“Today, I close this wonderful chapter of my life at the BBC after eight years. I have grown, I have learned, I have thrived. I leave with a grateful heart and fond memories. Storytelling is what I do best. And I’m excited about what the universe has next for me on my plate. My story continues,” he said then.

Before joining the British broadcaster, Omondi was a senior Coast reporter for the Standard Media Group’s KTN.

He also worked for Nation Media Group as a news anchor and reporter.

Omondi also had a stint at the Royal Media Services’ Citizen TV where he worked as a Sports news anchor and reporter between 2006 and 2009.
