A Ghanaian man is presently receiving treatment in hospital after reportedly accidentally cutting his genitals while sleeping.
Kofi Atta, a 47-year-old farmer, said he chopped part of his testicles after dozing off on the chair, during which he dreamt that he was cutting meat.
“I was sitting in my chair when I dozed off. In my sleep I dreamt that I was cutting some meat in front of me. I don’t remember how I picked up the knife,” he told BBC News Pidgin.
Neighbours who heard his screams for help and probably thought he was being attacked rushed to his home in a bid to come to his rescue.
They however found him alone in the room, bleeding, and rushed him to hospital where he is still being treated since the incident early this month.
Atta now says he seeks the help of well-wishers in raising money required for him to undergo surgery as instructed by doctors at the facility.
