Mother Cries Over Being Conned Sh1.2M By Billy Amendi Advocates

PART ONE

Elizabeth Muganya’s daughters Ratansi and Yvonne survived the accident and were compensated by the insurance firm with Khs. 1.2 million through the law firm of Billy Amendi Advocates in 2018; sadly the family has never received a penny as the lawyer has been playing hide and seek games using the courts since then

A mother of two young girls who were involved in a serious road accident five years ago has had the misfortune of spending all her life savings on treating her daughters after a city-based lawyer failed to remit the accident compensation claim paid through his law firm’s bank account by AIG insurance.

Elizabeth Muganya’s daughters Ratansi and Yvonne survived the accident and were compensated by the insurance firm with Khs. 1.2 million through the law firm of Billy Amendi Advocates in 2018; sadly the family has never received a penny as the lawyer has been playing hide and seek games using the courts since then. The law firm has exposed Ms Muganya and her children to daily challenges by frustrating them through the courts, deceit and outright manipulations. At one time the lawyer even advised Ms Muganya to check her bank accounts for the money, only for her to learn that she had been misled after spending a whole day in the banking hall.

The defendant through his insurance company AIG did not have any problem in settling the matter after the court concluded it, AIG remitted the money to the law firm almost immediately

The matter was first filed at the Milimani Commercial Law Courts under case number CMCC of 2017 pitting Elizabeth Muganya on behalf of her two daughters versus the defendant Davis Wellington Githeu whose vehicle was responsible for the accident. Facts from documents in our possession indicate that the defendant through his insurance company AIG did not have any problem in settling the matter after the court concluded it, AIG remitted the money to the law firm almost immediately.

Part of the document from AIG Insurance reads: “The Shs 1,246,511 (One million two forty-six thousand five hundred and eleven) was transferred to Billy Amendi Advocates Bank Account No.0401134902 on August 6th, 2018 and confirmed to have been received the following day by the said advocate.”
