South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro has been arrested at Gusii Stadium where the funeral service of Mzee Simeon Nyachae is underway.
Police whisked him away for questioning on Monday morning.
His arrest comes hours after Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi was also seized by the authorities over alleged plans to disrupt the burial ceremony of Nyachae.
Among those who have attended the funeral ceremony are President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga, Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Kanu leader Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
