How Senator Omanga Ripped Off From COVID-19 Funds

It is often said, that three things cannot be long hidden from the world; the sun, the moon, and the truth. And also, throughout history, the fall of great men has been caused by a woman.

In the case today, we open the lid on an illicit affair that continues to rob a county of its desired development.

The county of Narok is on sharp focus as the former Chief Executive Committee Member (CEC) for Finance Mr. Morgan Siloma (demoted to the less lucrative docket of health) is said to be looting county funds and enjoying it with Nairobi Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga.

The steamy relationship doesn’t care about the residents of Narok County who continue to suffer a poor state of infrastructure, underdevelopment, and lack of medicine in hospitals, while the Health Boss squanders the wealth in Nairobi.

The nominated senator was adversely mentioned in the botched Prisons Department Ksh4.8 billion tender scandal where it is said her firm Milways Enterprises was awarded a Ksh200 million tender to supply G3 rifle slings at a cost of Ksh5000 each. She would have ripped off the government as the slings only cost Ksh200 each.

It was reported that the scandal was stopped by the new Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Twalib Mbarak. Mr. Mbarak stopped payments right before disbursement.

It is open knowledge that Millicent Omanga was picked from the streets selling bedsheets and molded by Deputy resident William Ruto where she was appointed as a non-executive director of Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen).

Millicent Omanga has nothing more than to toe the line of a man who has been described as the high-priest of corruption.

Narok County is not heaven under Governor Samuel Tunai. The rot is deep.

The CEC for Health illicit affairs with the nominated senator is not the only illicit thing he is engaging in. He is alleged to have used his position in the lucrative docket of finance to influence the award of tenders to his friends and his proxy firms in the county.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission officials in Narok County last year arrested the lover boy Mr.Morgan Siloma over the allegations of misusing COVID-19 funds.

According to a senior EACC officer in the South rift region who spearheaded the operation, the C’s failed to produce documents detailing how millions of shilling were spent in the construction of a multi-million Narok Covid-19 complex center.

The project was to be constructed at the cost of Ksh.800M with the first phase of the complex expected to cost around Ksh.463 million. The second phase was projected to cost Ksh.337 million.

According to a source, the senator who unsuccessfully vied for the Nairobi Woman Rep position during the last elections received a very expensive gift from the Masai boyfriend. Mr. Morgan was rumored to have bought the Abagusii daughter a fully furnished apartment in Kileleshwa at the cost of Ksh 250M, a gift that almost stopped reggae in Omanga’s marriage.

It is also an open secret that several key leaders in Narok County are pro-DP Ruto and that the CEC is one of those ‘mandated’ to steal to fund Tangatanga and DP Ruto.

DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid machinery requires money to oil it. Church fundraisers, youth empowerment programs, and all manner of donations have characterized Ruto’s social engagements. While some have termed this bribery, Mr. Emmanuel Talaam, the DP’s deputy spokesman, said what has won Dr. Ruto the hearts and minds of the people is not money but ideas.
