Word reaching NE desk from one member of the gay community in Nairobi have it that a certain couple after being denied and threatened to be disowned by their families should they continue with the”ungodly” relationship,decided to defy the odds.
Ian and Mrs. Ian as they are referred,have been in an open gay relationship for the longest time,”they have been in love,like any other relationship,they’ve had their challenges and had finally decided to settle down but Ian who comes from a rich family,approached the family and opened up on his relationship with his boyfriend and had asked them to allow them to marry but like any other African family would react,they refused and threatened to disown him” narrates,Edmond,an open gay member in Nairobi to NE.
The two had stepped on the gas and nothing was stopping them from settling down. On the fateful day,in the company of few fellow gay friends,the couple showed up at Ian’s family home in Muthaiga and held what appeared as a rebel wedding,making out right in the full glare of the disbelieved parents. “it didn’t last even for five minutes,we had a guy who acted as the priest,they exchanged vows you know,I promise to blah blah till death do us apart and then kissed,the dad was super pissed and rushed back into the house to collect what we later learnt to be a gun,but the work was done,mission accomplished,they were now husband and wife,we quickly dashed out before things could turn ugly on us” Edmond narrates to Nairobi Exposed.
It is unclear what ensued at the scene,but from the latest,the dad has disowned the boy claiming he has brought shame to the family. He was the only boy in a family of six. “they are happy and living fine like any other married couple like an husband and a wife with love and passion amongst them” concludes Edmond.
