Nairobi County Staff Dies After Falling from 6th Floor of City Hall Annex

A tragic incident struck Nairobi’s city administration on Saturday after a county government employee died from injuries sustained in a fall from the sixth floor of the City Hall Annex, which houses the Nairobi County headquarters.

The man, reportedly dressed in official county work uniform, was seen plummeting from the building’s upper levels in what stunned witnesses described as a horrifying scene.

Police responded promptly, with Central OCPD Stephen Okal confirming that a team had been dispatched to the scene and that the body was moved to Nairobi Funeral Home.

The nature of the fall, however, remains unclear.

“Investigators are there to know more. It could be suicide, an accidental fall, someone escaping, or even being pushed,” said Okal, stressing that no possibilities had been ruled out.

The sudden death has cast a somber cloud over City Hall, raising urgent questions about employee welfare, building safety, and security protocols within the county offices.

Authorities are expected to review CCTV footage, interview colleagues, and examine workplace conditions as part of the ongoing probe.

A postmortem will also be conducted to assist in determining the exact cause of death.
