The former presidential hopeful cum activist Nazlun Umar has been undergoing marriage rocking with her husband and its said he is considering a divorce.
According to Umar,her woes with the husband Madatali Chatur started when she opposed Raila’s candidature in the 2007 elections.
“My problems with Chatur started as soon as I opposed Raila” Umar said these before high court judge Lenaola where she is pursuing a case against the state for a sh.1m compensation. She lamented against the Kasarani police for turning a deaf ear on her whenever she goes to report about her enstranged husband.
In 2011 Umar filled a case demanding Chatur to pay her amount over sh.280m for maintenance. In his response,the supposed husband disowned her dismissing ever getting married to her,Chatur revealed that his wife died in 2010 and Umar alleged that she got married under Islamic law in 2009. He went further to say Nazlin used to go visiting his sick wife and used that to collect info that she could later use against him. He called her an opportunist and extortionist,lover of high life that herself can’t afford. The case has yet to be resolved. Chatur is a tycoon.
The last time Umar was on the press was during the dramatic theatric staged in the supreme court in the presidential petition and caused quite a stir in the court room forcing for her to be whisked away,she later camped outside.
It is however unclear as to how Raila supposedly bewitched her marriage. She adds to the list of people who have put their woes on Raila including Uhuru and Ruto who have severally accused Raila of taking them to the Hague. It will be interesting to see how far Nazlin will push with this.
