Detectives based at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have arraigned Jean Emmanuel Morlon, also known as Lamarca J. Benjamin, over allegations of defrauding two businessmen in a gold scam amounting to Ksh. 15.5 million.
Morlon has been in police custody since February 4, 2025, after allegedly scamming a Romanian and a Swiss national in a fraudulent gold deal.
Appearing before the Senior Principal Magistrate at the JKIA Law Court, Morlon pleaded not guilty to all charges. The prosecution requested his continued detention, arguing that he posed a flight risk.
In response, the Magistrate ordered that the suspect be remanded at Industrial Area Remand Prison.
The case is set for mention on March 3, 2025.
