Orange Beat Ya Street is The Biggest Dance Show Ever In Kenya, Reasons and how it was pieced up together.

The show premiered last night(Saturday) on NTV with the host being rapper Collo. Its a street dance show and for those familiar a street dance is a versatile kind of competition where rules are limited and crazy stunts are pulled. Orange beat ya street. How different is it from other competitions that have been held locally;
•Its organization,the show has been organised into regions to give way for more crews to participate. Its open and any crew can opt to participate in any of their choice,includes;Nairobi,Kisumu,Mombasa and Thika. Each region will have 7crews battling for the finalist spot which shall be held in Nairobi sometimes in September. The show will go to both the regions and later bring the regions’ winners together in a grand show.
Grand Price
Orange beat ya street has the biggest  price ever posed in any competition in Kenya withthe grand price being ksh.5,000,000 the closest we had was sakata which had ksh.2,000,000 as the grand price. The higher the price the tighter the competition.
Brings together biggest dance crews,ultimate battle
I can confidently say this is going to be a fierce battle field,the orange beat ya street brought together Kenya’s biggest dance crews like wapi wapi,FBI,black blingers,sisko reloaded, amongst itheu. These guys are the hottest in the game with awards toounder their custody. Last night they brought out their A game and if what we saw has.anything to go by then we are looking at an international class show.
Host Choice
I must commend the production crew for settling on Collo as the official host to this programme. Street dancing is more lined to hiphop it is an element of hiphop arguably so by settling on a rapper,the theme of the show is reflected,his stage presence too outstanding,so far so good.
Judges panel
The panel is creme of the industry and are practical professionals in the game as well,Boneless,Kuku and Marion are both legendary and iconic dancers in Kenya so by being put up to be the judges on something they understand most is correctly called for. It also brings a sense of freshness,these are new faces in the judging docket,no same faces different stages no andthey mean business,from the set they were on.
International production crew
The show for those who don’t know is produced by an international company known as VMW,these guys have worked on major projects such as world cup,africon and other big names in the music industry,the MMG and YM but to name a few,adding more credentials to the show.The quality of production phenomenal.
With all the good stuff said,the show didn’t miss its lows and I shall therefore proceed and mention them;
Small and plastic crowd
The crowd was partially visible from the entire show but the few shots captured could tell that they were around 10 I guess common orange Kenya has over 40m people and you only take those? Apart from that’s the plastic cheering was a bit irritating,I know the producers always instructs on when to and not cheer but I couldn’t help the silicones. Ease on that.
Show going against theme
I believe this is a street dance,in a,layman language shouldn’t the show by done out doors,don’t you think that would giveit a new energy and create a distinction with other shows which are all indoors? Street dance would be full of energy,charged crowd and all. You could borrow a leaf from the Malta guinness dance challenge. You can as well alternate between stage and outdoor,as long as their is a variety.
Stage and Shots
The stage is just too small or it just looked too small for a street dance competition,the dancers were literally struggling to stay within radar and unable to do outrageous air flips that’s what we wanna see create that space. The shots are well executed apart from the shots on Collo,you know well the shot can take or give a subject power,lemme not jam the readers with photography jargon. The thing is Collo as a subject is short so by giving him long shots you expose his dwarfism even more. Limit long shots.
That’s my two cents on the show,I’ll be watching and updating you more,if you feel the need to talk to me,my contacts are out there,my personal phone no.is 07……………until next time. Im out.
NE,Boss.
