Lady gets her Samsung S4 smashed as she films "road hog" video meant to be forwarded to Citizen TV

Road hog is a traffic watch initiative program started by citizen TV which is meant to capture and shame reckless and unprofessional conducts of drivers on the Kenyan roads. This comes in the wake of many lives getting lost to road accidents in the recent past. This plan by RMS is therefore envisioned to curb the menace by capturing and exposing the offenders who puts others lives in danger.
How it works, one is required to spot a driver breaking the law by going against traffic rules, video record the scenario in this case via phone then forward the captured video to the station’s whatsapp account given. After receiving the video, the station then goes ahead to expose and shame the driver. This move has seen several cases and drivers including an MP exposed for breaking law and risking others’ rights.
As Citizen TV continues to encourage others to keep capturing the videos, they forgot to give the potential contributors on how to apply basic paparazzi skills and evade being caught unawares as they film. Several cases have been reported and from complaints on their Facebook page “road hog” more than enough people have fallen victims if circumstances in this process. Phones of passengers have ended up being snatched as they sleekly attempt to film the possible law breaching moments in the traffic. Today in the morning one lady seem to have suffered the biggest ordeal.
The incidence occurred around Buxton in Mombasa the lady in her saloon car was filming a matatu van whose driver realised and pulled over, together with his conductor they ambushed her telling her to delete the video, the defiant lady however couldn’t give in and there was tag of war ending up to the phone’s screen getting smashed and crushed. The driver joined by other counterparts were overheard by witnesses saying the incidence of them getting filmed on the rise and they promise to “kuwaonyesha chamtemakuni” (discipline) the charged drivers crowd then arrogantly told the lady off to approach citizen TV to compensate her. She reported the matter to thepolice. Next time before you film, you might need to read the book “basic paparazzi moves” that is if such a book exists.
