A man has chained himself to Dedan Kimathi’s statue along Kimathi street claiming that the late freedom fighter was his grandfather.
The Nairobi Fire Services are attempting to free the unknown man who has refused to unchain himself from the monument. He has told the crowd gathered at the scene that he will free himself from the statue only until he speaks to Ms Mukami Kimathi, his ‘granmother’ and Dedan Kimathi’s widow. She is currently in Kinangop, Nyandarua County.
