Female CITY Morgue Attendant Arrested For Stealing From The Dead WESTGATE Victims

An attendant at the City
Mortuary in Nairobi has been arrested for allegedly stealing from bodies of victims of Westgate Mall terror attack last month, officials
said.
The female attendant is accused of stealing a gold watch from President Kenyatta’s kin who
was among those killed in September 21 attack.
Kilimani Division police boss Peter Katam said they are interrogating the woman and her colleagues for stealing from the dead.
Mbugua the president’s nephew was amongst the many who were killed by  the terrorists who attacked the the Westgate mall. As the procedure requires all bodies were transferred to the city mortuary before their families came in and transferred them to other funeral homes and in this case Mbugua and his fiancee were transferred to Lee funeral home.
This is just an isolated case, the attendants have been known to steal valuables from the bodies brought in,more often from accident or other tragic end scenes.
The police vows to crack a whip on the woman to act as an example to the rest for stealing from the Westgate victims and other cases.
