COFEK Pushes For A Consumer Boycott Over The Controversial VASELINE Ad Featuring SHEILA MWANYIGAH

Consumers Federation of Kenya
(Cofek) an independent consumer protection body in Kenya has threatened to mobilise Kenyans to go on a consumer boycott by keeping away from buying Vaseline products in two Weeks time.

This follows several demands from the body to the Vaseline manufactures to pull down the billboard showing the partially naked body of Easy FM presenter and musician Sheila Mwanyigah.

A section of the consumers backed with Cofek have lodged complaints citing the advert as obscene and termed as a deceptive advertising.

The advert in the minds of it’s creators intended to show the end smooth products on the skin like that of Sheila on the billboard if they used Vaseline as their body lotion. But different people have different perceptions.

Do you support the call for boycott and better yet would you boycott from using the Vaseline product when Cofek calls for it?
