Breaking: Kenya TV Stations Goes On A Media Blackout

The media owners association of Kenya have unanimously decided to switch off their transmission. Mainly NMG,Standard Group and Royal Media. Here’s the statement from them on their decision.
In the High Court sitting on Monday, Justice David Majanja dismissed a petition by three media houses – Standard Group, NMG and Royal Media” He dismissed the case and as a consequence digital migration takes effect immediately.
In compliance with that judgement, we (the Media Owners’ Association) are left with no option but to go off-air. We have instructed our lawyers to appeal against the High Court decision in the Court of Appeal.
We are pursuing other avenues to resolve the issue so that you can continue watching your favourite TV station. We hope to be back on air as soon as possible.
They had argued that the timing would hurt their advertising revenue, despite the migration notice was released more than 8.months down line. So if you switch on to your TV to find it black don’t adjust the aerial, the boys have gone in indefinite holiday and until the government loosen their thongs, they won’t be back on air on soon.
Do you support the media’s stunt?
