Local football giants and 19-time Kenya champions Gor Mahia have parted ways with Betafriq, a gaming firm that entered into partnership with the club two months ago.
The gaming firm took over as the main shirt sponsors in July in a KSh. 228 million three-year deal that seemed as a lucrative one after losing another shirt sponsor.
The latest development has been confirmed by the club’s Chairman Ambrose Rachier who said they have received a termination letter from the gaming firm.
“We received a sponsorship termination letter from Betafriq. We understand their position which they clearly said was in good faith and we wish them well,” Rachier told Citizen Digital.
The chairman however, confirmed that despite parting ways with the shirt sponsors, they will be engaging other potential sponsors and they are hopeful of nailing another deal soon.
“We are working on and hopefully we get another sponsor on board as soon as possible to cushion us as we prepare for the season ahead. We have potential partners who have shown interest and we hope things work out well.”
