Ruto At Risk Of Losing Access To Bank Accounts, As State Begin Query On His Tax Returns

Fresh details now point at the possibility of Deputy President William Ruto losing access to the money in his bank accounts soon.

This comes amid an intense ongoing exchange between him and the government, which began after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, during a sitting in parliament last week listed his alleged properties.

Ruto would hours later come out to admit that 70% of the mentioned assets were indeed his and in a mockery tone, said that others, like his chicken farm that earns him a Sh1.5 daily income, and his shares, were forgotten.

“They should have said that there are 200,000 chickens on the farm and I sell 150,000 eggs a day earning me Sh1.5 million,” the nation’s Second In Command said on Thursday.

The Daily Nation now reports that the state plans to freeze Ruto’s bank accounts and send tax demand letters to him, a day after the Jubilee Party leadership joined in in questioning the source of his vast empire.

In a statement read by party Secretary General Raphael Tuju, Jubilee wondered how he was able to make all this money in such a short time, only a few years after saying he was worth only Sh100 million and now owns billions worth of assets.

He also demanded that the DP makes public the amount he pays in taxes, suggesting that he couod he evading tax.

“We request that as a person who is also a good bible quoting born-again Christian he will shame the devil and publicly give all Kenyans this information. Give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what belongs to him,” he added.

This comes amid claims that the DP is a corrupt man who could have used his proximity to the presidency to engage in shady deals, allegations normally made by ODM boss Raila Odinga and his troops.

Ruto’s wealth has also brought his ‘Hustler’ narrative under question, with his critics and political enemies wondering how a Hustler can own five choppers, two hangars and huge pieces of land.
