Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has weighed in on the move by Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua to join the Azimio la Umoja movement led by Raila Odinga.
In a statement on Facebook after Karua and Raila officially courted each other, Kuria said he respects her decision.
“I respect the decision by my sister Martha Karua to join Azimio just like she respected my decision to join the Kenya Kwanza Alliance. Ultimately Kenya is the winner and democracy will prevail. May the best team win,” Kuria said.
On Tuesday, the CCK leader urged Karua to pick the Kenya Kwanza Alliance side and deputise UDA leader William Ruto.
He added that a Ruto-Karua ticket would save Kenyan politics from dynastic domination.
“Pick a side and put on your Jersey. I look forward to an imminent Ruto-Karua ticket to save this country from eternal dynastic domination and give hope to millions of children who went to school barefooted,” he said.
Kuria, however, affirmed that Karua will still remain her close associate in the event she chooses the opposite camp.
“If you decide otherwise you will remain my sister, my senior and my friend.”
Karua on Wednesday joined Azimio camp saying Raila is her preferred successor in the 2022 race.
“I’m here to confirm that from now onwards, Narc Kenya and I are supporting the Azimio La Umoja flagbearer Raila Odinga for the presidency,” she said.
