Deputy President William Ruto and ODM Leader Raila Odinga will form an alliance going into the 2022 General Election, this is according to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
MP Kuria is a firm believer of the saying, “in politics, no permanent friends, no permanent enemies but permanent interests.” Basing his strong assertion on this, Kuria says that a new political coalition that will shake the country is in the offing.
Speaking on TV47’s Pundits Night show, the DP Ruto ally said that the same issues the former prime minister is addressing are the same issues the ‘hustler movement’ is advocating for, only that they are packaged differently.
“Raila is asleep for now, when he wakes up he will realise that we are talking the same things and discussing the same issues. When he wakes up and looks at his support base, he will realise that they are the same hustlers we are talking about. He will ask himself whether getting power is more important than the lives of supporters who believe in him,” said MP Kuria.
In what will take Kenyans by surprise, Kuria now says that the two camps (Ruto’s and Raila’s) have just been blinded by a common enemy to believe that they are political enemies, when they actually are not.
“I’m very sure they [Ruto and Raila] will work together. We’ve been blinded by common enemies to believe that we are enemies when we are not. I think that day is coming when we will realise that we are dealing with common enemies.,” added MP Kuria.
On his part, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro dismissed sentiments from a section of Kenyans who said that Mt. Kenya region cannot support a presidential candidate who is not from the Gema community.
Nyoro says that indeed President Uhuru Kenyatta is not obligated to endorse anyone in 2022, but the mountain region had already decided to support an ‘outsider’ DP Ruto.
“Kenya has not been the country we are all happy to live in. Kenya has been a country where for you to be respectable, you needed to come from a prominent family. Hustler nation want to change that,” said MP Nyoro.
