KANU Is Firmly Behind Raila And Azimio To The End- Gideon Moi.

The Kenya African National Union party is firmly in the Azimio la Umoja coalition, party leader Gideon Moi has said.

In a statement on Thursday, Moi said that his party is determined to bring everyone on board to ensure their presidential aspirant Raila Odinga becomes the fifth president of Kenya.

“KANU is firmly in Azimio and there’s no turning back. We are determined to bring everybody onboard to ensure a resounding victory for Raila since we believe in inclusivity, individual liberty, and national unity,” he said in a tweet.

The remarks put to rest speculation that Kanu could was also on its way out of the coalition after the Wiper’s exit.

On Monday, Moi briefly attended Raila’s function, before he left for the SKM Command Centre in Karen where Kalonzo announced he’s parting ways with Azimio as well as his intent to vie for the presidency.

Moi and Kalonzo had held talks in Nairobi on Sunday, but the details remained scanty.

However, the Kanu secretary general Nick Salat while speaking after Raila had unveiled Martha Karua as his running mate at KICC on Monday said the party did not have any plans of leaving the coalition to team up with other formations or pursue its ambitions solo.

“I want to assure the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya that this time around, count Kanu in Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition. We are here to stay and we will fight for you because this is the winning team,” he said.
