Kalonzo hits back at Ruto after date with DCI

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka used a date with the DCI to campaign for President.

Speaking after he presented himself at the DCI headquarters on Wednesday regarding the acquisition of his farm in Yatta, Kalonzo said if elected president, he will recover stolen money and inject it into projects that benefit the youth.

Kalonzo said he opted to present himself at DCI to clear his name following accusations by Deputy President William Ruto that he grabbed the land from the National Youth Service.

He was accompanied by among others his lawyers senators James Orengo and Mutula Kilonzo Jnr.

Kalonzo said if elected President, he will ensure lifestyle audits are made compulsory before one is cleared to contest for public office.

“Today millions of youths continue to be saddled with student loans in the midst of biting unemployment. If we tame the greed by leaders, we will release billions of shillings into the economy and create jobs for our people,” Kalonzo said.

He added that Kenyans must be wise and seek clarity from vote seekers about real truths, “truths about their possessions’ and their public service track records.'”

In what appeared to be a veiled attack on Ruto, Kalonzo said, “We cannot have a man who dips his hand into the cookie jar at every single opportunity and at the same time present himself as a messiah.”

On the Yatta farm issue, Kalonzo said the DCI found zero evidence of wrongdoing on his part.

“This reflects my principles and values in life that you do not need to steal to become relevant in society. Indeed hard work pays,” the Wiper leader said.

Kalonzo also pointed out that all relevant documentation required to investigate the matter thoroughly was availed to the DCI, adding that scrutiny and investigations by the relevant agencies are hence crucial and of paramount importance.

“That is the correct approach that should be taken when false utterances are made against leaders. This is the only way to defeat the lies repeated by certain politicians who seek to create an artificial reality for Kenyans,” he said.
