Justina Wamae Congratulates Ruto While Bashing Wajackoyah’s Party, Begs For Job

Roots Party’s presidential running mate Justina Wamae has congratulated William Ruto five days after he was declared President-elect by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Wamae, in a public statement released on Friday, said it took her long to congratulate Ruto as she was still poring over arguments by different sections of the political elite on the presidential poll results.

She termed the process as transparent, noting that polling station agents would have raised alarm of any foul play at their various posts.

“It has taken me 4 days listening to argument from all quotas on whether IEBC was free, fair and transparent and I can confidently say that the election was transparent because the polling station agents who are supreme in this process would have raised an alarm if the Presiding officer was up to no good,” she said.

“The Returning Officer in the constituency level would have been alarmed and mark you the national tallying centre had no power in determining the outcome of the 2022 Presidential election.”

She hence slammed political parties that lost at the polls and have since contested the results saying they will only serve to turn members of the public against the electoral body.

She pointed out Roots Party, on whose ticket she ran jointly with its presidential candidate Prof. George Wajackoyah, as one such political entity that has challenged the results alleging vote rigging.

“So when I see some parties like Roots Party who as a member can confidently say we were disorganized in regards to agents mobilization stating that votes were stolen is simply preposterous,” noted Wamae.

“As a future leader, we need to stop bashing our institutions which in turn will translate to inciting the public against constitutionally mandated institutions.”

She added: “To our supporters 61,969 is no mean feat, do not lose hope, what you did made a difference and building on itself will go into make a difference in future.”

Wamae, while giving props to Ruto and his Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua for clinching the presidency, further asked Kenyans to make peace with them as their new leaders and move on to the future.

She also pledged to join hands with Ruto and Gachagua in a bid to aid them in steering the country forward.

“William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua are going to be our President and Deputy President respectively and I pray that our wonderful peaceful people of Kenya will accept the verdict,” she stated.

“Congratulations Ruto and Rigathi on your victory. As the representative of the Kenyan youth I will support in any way I can to achieve a financially secure Kenya that is dignified across the globe. God bless you and your families as you undertake your new responsibility.”
