The Jubilee party has reshuffled the Nairobi County Assembly Service Board.
Board member Mark Ndung’u has been replaced by Charles Thuo while June Ndegwa has replaced Silas Matara in the Speaker’s Panel.
The changes announced on Tuesday, December 1, comes after Jubilee boss Raphael Tuju confirmed the suspension of Nairobi Member of County Assemblies Silvia Museiya, Ann Thumbi, and Millicent Jagero for allegations of undermining the party.
The three MCAs had on Friday, November 27, been summoned by a disciplinary committee at the party’s headquarters.
Their position on the Nairobi City County Appropriation Bill, 2020 was put into question as they had gone against the party’s directive.
Changes made to the Jubilee regime have been notable within the Nairobi Service Board as they seek to effectively take charge and effectively govern Nairobi County.
The reshuffling comes after Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on Thursday, August 20, had instituted changes to the Nairobi County Assembly Service Board.
Nominated MCA Catherine Okoth replaced Nairobi West MCA Maurice Gari in representing ODM at the board. Mr Gari, however, took charge as the new chair of the assembly’s ICT committee.
Nominated MCA Nimo Haji became the new deputy chair of the assembly’s Finance, Budget and Appropriations Committee, replacing Embakasi MCA Michael Ogada.
Ogada was, however, appointed the new minority leader, replacing Karen MCA David Mberia
The ODM party had termed the changes made as vital to enhance service delivery to the people of Nairobi County.
