Irungu Kang’ata De-Whipped As Senate Majority Leader

Muranga Senator Irung’u Kang’ata has been de-whipped as Senate Majority leader and replaced by Kiambu’s Kimani Wamatangi, Jubilee Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has announced.

Kang’ata has been in the powerful position for nine months after he was picked to replace ousted Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika in a Jubilee purge.

The Murang’a senator found himself in trouble after a letter he penned to President Uhuru Kenyatta casting doubt on the popularity of the Building Bridges Initiative referendum in Mt. Kenya region.
