I last spoke with President Uhuru Kenyatta three years ago, Moses Kuria says

Moses Kuria who is the Gatundu South Member of Parliament has opened up about his relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Appearing on a local station, Kuria said he last spoke with the Head of State three years ago.

According to the MP, he counts himself lucky to have engaged Uhuru in a talk saying that most leaders who were voted in through Jubilee Party ticket have completely never had an opportunity to speak with the president.

“It is still a privilege that I spoke to the president three years ago. We have people who have never had a word with him,” Kuria said.

The lawmaker further clarified that he did not have any problem with Uhuru and justifying that they have not communicated recently because they are currently differing in ideologies.

Since President Kenyatta differed with his Deputy William Ruto, Kuria is among leaders who came out strongly to oppose the move saying that it was against an agreement that was made between the two.

Interestingly, Kuria is a member of parliament representing president Uhuru’s home constituency.

It is worth noting that Kuria has been amongst political leaders in the country who vehemently opposed the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which was being championed by President Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

“The BBI is dead like a dodo. That was bound to happen given the kiburi and hubris with which it was pushed down our throats,” he said.
