Gachagua Alleges Plot By Deep State To Block Wetangula From Being Speaker

Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua now claims that Interior PS Karanja Kibicho wants to block Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula from becoming the National Assembly Speaker.

Gachagua claimed that Kibicho ordered a halt to the gazettement of senators-elect to block Wetangula from being speaker.

“I want to tell you Karanja Kibicho, the gazettement of the Senators is inconsequential in matters of electing the speaker of the national assembly,” he said while speaking during a Mass at Christ the King Cathedral in Bungoma on Sunday.

“So you’re just wasting your time just as you wasted four and half years trying to stop William Ruto from being the President of the Republic of Kenya,” he added.

Gachagua said the Kenya Kwanza team has unanimously agreed to have Wetangula as the speaker of the 13th Parliament.

“Huyu kiongozi Moses Wetangula Katika Kenya Kwanza tumesikizana. Hii kiingereza yake mingi sana tunataka itumike pale kwa national Assembly. Tumekubaliana kwa kauli moja (We have agreed that Wetangula will be the speaker of the Nationals Assembly where we expect him to leverage his mastery of English to serve MPs. We have agreed in unison.).”

On Friday, speaking at Musikoma during a funeral service, Wetangula said he was going to take up Justin Muturi’s role in the next government.

“I am going to be the Speaker of the National Assembly, the third in command of the country. I will use the position to appoint our people into big positions,” Wetang’ula said.

The former Mathira MP urged the outgoing officers to move on saying they are giving themselves false hope about the next leader.

“I would like to ask all these officers, who are retiring with President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop living in denial. The election is over. William Ruto is the President of the Republic of Kenya.”

He further told them to pack and await for their retirement day.
