Atwoli insists Ruto will not be Kenya’s 5th president

Cotu secretary-general Francis Atwoli has maintained that Deputy President William Ruto will not be Kenya’s next president come 2022.

Speaking in an interview with a local TV channel, Atwoli said that DP Ruto will not win the presidential race, at least, not in the next year’s general elections.

According to Atwoli, ODM leader Raila Odinga stands a higher chance of winning the presidential race, unlike the Deputy President. He noted that Raila is a good political organizer that DP Ruto cannot match.

“Raila is a terrible organizer, to stop him you must put some powerful mechanism in place. This is to say that if elections are held today, Raila will merge a victor,” Atwoli said.

Atwoli also noted that Ruto will not emerge as the victor in the next elections because he does not have the numbers. He pointed out that Ruto does not the numbers to win elections.

“William Ruto is not going to win the elections because if you were to win elections if you want to be a president and you are working with somebody who is ahead of you, you support this person till the end. You don’t start preparing a marina for him in order for you to win,” Atwoli added.

He said Ruto can not win the elections because he disrespected his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta. He also claimed that the country’s second in command was egoistic and full of himself hence he can’t win the presidency.

Atwoli further insisted that Ruto will not get a majority vote from Mt Kenya, a region perceived to be his stronghold. According to him, come next year, the people from the region will vote for the person they feel can protect their interest and to him, that person is not DP Ruto.
