Probably this has never crossed your mind but just FYI (For You Information) it is not a cougar! Apparently our male sponyoos/ blessers/ `daddy` as commonly called in Kenya have an English name called Manther. Manthers are men who indulge in sexual acts with younger women but are thirty-five years and above although dating girls half their age.

A manther can be a `silver fox` meaning an attractive grey haired man who can come out like a magnet for the young ladies, although not in all cases. Young women sometimes tend to be drowned to this type of men mainly because of their financial stability and many other benefits. This kind of relationships also have flaws such as the criticism from friends, existing children from previous relationship who could be of same age with the young lady and the list could be long. Mostly, this relationships are just to have fun and go out there live life which they find difficult to do with ladies their age, reason being they could be less interested in that kind of life.

The media seems to sometimes encourage this kind of relationships like in shows such as play boy mansion which Hugh Hefner who needs no introduction happens to own. One would wonder then why governments create laws to protect minors and yet once they hit adulthood make a mockery of it by indulging in this relationships. In conclusion the name is derived from the word `man` and `panther` which when combined forms manther. It was inspired from the cat family animal panther probably because of its sexual behaviors’ in the wild which resonates with the behavior of the manther.
