Policeman Shoots Dead His Sister Over Sh550M Alcohol Debt

A police officer in Turkana County has been arrested for shooting to death his sister over a Sh550 alcohol debt.

According to the police report, the fight between the siblings started at Kainuk market where the sister, a secondary school teacher, runs a bar.

The sister, Susan Nasiru Emure, 34, is said to have demanded that her brother, Wilfred Kibichiy Too, clears his bar bill, a situation that quickly escalated into a physical altercation.

“The officer was hit on the head with a stone and started bleeding. He ran back to the police post and returned armed with a G3 rifle, went to his sister’s house and shot her three times,” the report read in part. 

Wounded and angry, the police officer scurried back to Kainuk Police Statin where he grabbed a gun, went to his sister’s house and shot her several times.

She died on the spot, the police report said.

Police officers later disarmed and arrested the killer policeman, detaining him at Lodwar Police Station.

His sister’s body was taken to Lodward Referral Hospital mortuary.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 12.
