Lawyer wants MP Didmus Barasa investigated after video emerges of him having “good times” with a minor

A human rights lawyer has urged the police to investigate a video where a man who looks like Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has been captured drinking illicit brew with a minor.

The Video has been doing rounds on social media.

Lawyer Jane Nyabiage of Odiya & Associates advocates reported the matter on Wednesday evening at Akilla Police Station in Nairobi vide OB number 31/13/10/2021.

In the video a young girl aged between 12 and 14 years is seen “feeding” the MP with the traditional illicit drink allegedly to be busaa.

Nyabiage said as a child protection officer for many years, she was shocked when she saw the young girl in the video.

“Evidently from the video, the child is being coerced by a senior public officer in this country to feed him with alcohol and also forcing the child to take something that looks like busaa.” The lawyer told Hot News.

She said that when she looked at the comments against the video, she got concerned it could be her daughter.

She said, “Even if it is his daughter, I am not happy with the demeanor, the place where they are seated, and a young girl being forced to feed a whole big man with a jug of alcohol.”

She said that she felt offended as a child protection officer for many years.

“I will be representing the minor so that justice, rescue and counseling is accorded to her.” The lawyer said.
