Kericho Man Commits Suicide After Losing Sh120K On Aviator Betting

Shock and grief engulfed the residents of Majengo on the outskirts of Kericho town after the body of a 24-year-old man was found hanging from the roof of his one-room rented house.

Collins Kipkorir is alleged to have died by suicide after losing Sh120,000 through aviator gambling on Monday morning.

Before his death, Kipkorir was employed to run a Mpesa shop within Kericho town. It is reported that he used the business money to try his luck only to lose his bet in all the games.

Talking to NTV on the phone, the deceased nephew Aron Kosgey said the deceased asked his friend to look after the shop as he went to run some errands in the town and would be back soon.

“We tried severally to contact him but he was not answering the calls,” said Kosgey.

According to the police report, no suicide note was found at the scene.

The body was removed and taken to Siloam Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem exam.
